Bio

An Emmy Award winning filmmaker with an eye for the uncomfortable truths in everyday life, David has moved between directing feature films, television drama, documentary, music videos and digital projects in a 30 plus year career that’s been eclectic and highly accomplished.

Most notably as the Director and Co-Producer on Feature Films Daffodils (2019), Belief: The Possession of Janet Moses (2016) and Director of Warner Bros Television Drama Mini-series Black Hands (2020). David was also Director, Co-producer and Creator of the interactive drama series Reservoir Hill (2010 & 2011) and three primetime seasons of family drama series Girl versus Boy (2013-2015).

David’s films and television shows have screened internationally on Network TV, Netflix and at numerous prestigious Film Festivals.

In 2010 David won an International Emmy Award and was nominated for another 2011. In NZ a Qantas Media Award followed and in then in 2017 he was judged Best Director Documentary at the New Zealand Film Awards and nominated for Best Drama Director at the NZTV Awards.
