Bio

Himiona is a writer, director and composer for film, television and theatre. His feature film debut The Pa Boys was released in 2014 to critical acclaim. Himiona has worked with and was mentored by some of New Zealand’s most iconic film and documentary makers including Merata Mita, Barry Barclay and Geoff Murphy.

He is an award-winning photographer, shooting stills on feature and short films and likes nothing better than being out in the elements making photos.

In 2015 Himiona teamed up with Mick Finn of Science Films NZ and created Mai Kapiti, a stills and video production company that specialises in creating visual narratives for community groups, advertising and the music, film and television industries.
