Senior Editor - Chillbox

Chillbox is a video and film production company in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Our work is primarily commercial content for online/social media distribution and TVCs. We also produce funded documentary content and narrative short-form content. We are currently in post-production on our first feature film ("Loop Track"), and have another feature film in development. Our aim is to grow and produce large-scale projects such as feature films and TV series. 

The Senior Editor will be the lead person responsible for post-production on Chillbox’s projects, and will work closely with producers, directors, and other post-production people. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing post-production work on projects, constructing narratives through video editing (Adobe Premiere).

• Sound editing, sound, mixing and mastering and colour grading to a level suitable for online distribution.

• For certain projects, input during pitching or pre-production stages on editorial, technical or and workflow considerations.

• Collaborating with other post-production specialists and staff to complete post-production on video projects.

• Making and implementing recommendations about changes to software, hardware, and other systems.

• Helping to maintain existing network and data infrastructure. Making and implementing recommendations on data management.

• Evolving and implementing  standards and processes for post-production at Chillbox.

• Implementing post-production standards (communicating to relevant team members, providing training where appropriate).

Key skills are:

• Video editing and post-production.

• High standard of English communication, in both written and verbal form.

• Listening skills and the ability to learn quickly.

• Ability to communicate clearly and constructively.

• Ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.

• Knowledge about post-production software, hardware, and workflow processes.

• Some experience with motion graphics preferred. 

The role is a full-time, salaried position. The Senior Editor will have input on a broad variety of projects, at different stages in the production process.
