Bio

John M. Dichi (he/they) is an emerging Filipino Queer writer and director based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Dichi went to South Seas Film School where he specialised in scriptwriting and drama directing. Dichi, since then, has written and directed a short film called ‘cherry', a Queer drama short, in early of 2022 which went on to be awarded 'Honorable Mention for Best LGBTQ Short' at Indie Short Fest in Los Angeles.

Dichi is a proud member of the rainbow community and has mainly focussed on telling and sharing Queer p.o.c. narratives and characters through his writing and films. His goal is to bring these amazing, oftentimes heartbreaking, stories to the foreground and work alongside a diverse and inclusive team, both in front and behind the camera.
