Bio

Merle Koethemann is a props buyer, stylist and graphic designer with a reputation for quality, detail and quick turnaround. She began her career as art director for local theatre shows in Lippstadt, Germany, before relocating to New Zealand in 2020.

While working for Theme Productions in Christchurch, Merle was responsible for designing assets and installs for some of New Zealand's biggest malls, in cooperation with leading brands such as Disney, Crocs and the All Blacks.

Since focussing her attention on art department roles in television and film, Merle has designed props and set pieces for Whitebait productions such as One Way Out, Dream Bedroom Makeover, Ralph Online (for Netsafe) and Big Questions, Real Answers (for Spark).

Her latest role was as set dec and graphic designer for major television series Dark City - The Cleaner (Lionsgate) due to air in 2024.

Her personal passions include illustration, pottery and board game design.
